The Theater Department presented its production of David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play Proof Oct. 1-4 in the Williams Center for the Arts black box theater.

Directed by Trudyann Buckley ’15, the play explores the intersection of genius and insanity through the eyes of a woman who may have inherited her father’s mathematical brilliance and mental illness. As part of her honors thesis, Buckley (East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania), a biology and theater double major, worked with lighting designer Jennifer Reiser and set designer Will Lowry, who have experience working on Broadway productions.

The cast includes:

  • Emma Glubiak ’18 (Ridgefield, Connecticut) as Claire
  • Jeffrey Helm, associate professor of mechanical engineering, as Robert
  • Grace Marchena ’15 (Hopatcong, New Jersey), an English and psychology major, as Catherine
  • Ethan Simmons ’18 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) as Hal
