Two Lafayette students find themselves closer to realizing their career goals after spending four days on the job with Marie Garofalo ’10, an internal communications associate at Disney Consumer Products in Glendale, Calif.

“This experience made me aware of jobs and careers that I didn’t know existed and has opened my eyes to other possibilities,” says Shyla Watson ’15 (Los Angeles, Calif.), an English major who plans to pursue event planning or public relations. “I was given great advice as to how I should pursue life after graduation and do something that I’m passionate about.”

International affairs major Brittany Flynn ’15 (West Chester, Pa.), who is exploring many fields, says the externship gave her a well-rounded perspective on the workplace.

“I met with about 15 employees in the communication, public relations, publishing, and event planning departments,” she says. “Being able to make so many connections at Disney will definitely help my future career goals.”
