Leslie Muhlfelder, vice president for human resources and general counsel, was the top fund-raiser at a recent Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) event.
Muhlfelder was one of more than 130 area professionals who volunteered to be taken to Cafe Aaron in Easton on Thursday, January 18. There the “jailbirds” served a one-hour “sentence,” using donated cell phones to call various business associates, friends, and family to raise “bail.” Muhlfelder raised the MDA goal of $2,700 for each individual.
The event surpassed last year’s total of $45,000. All proceeds will be used to fund program services for Northampton and Warren County patients, including a summer camp program for children ages 6-12, wheelchair purchases and repairs, clinic visits to a rehabilitation hospital, and research into the causes and cure for muscular dystrophy.
