Tri-Delta sorority’s Keri Allan ’02 and Amanda Simone ’02 enjoyed an impressive run in intramural competition earlier this month, taking first and second place in the individual Punt Pass Kick event Oct. 3 at Newlin Fields, as well as wrapping up first place in the whiffleball tournament Oct. 10. The victories earned the sorority a total of 70 points, keeping Tri-Delta on top of the intramural standings as of Oct. 12.
Theta Chi’s Pete Vitiello ’02 secured first place in Punt Pass Kick, helping the fraternity leapfrog the International Students Association into first place in the intramural standings. FIJI emerged with the top spot in whiffleball by winning two close games against Phi Psi, helping it jump eight places in the standings into third place.
Alan and Simone took first and second place, respectively, in Punt Pass Kick. Shauna Pedowitz ’02 finished in third place, followed by Jen Murno ’02 of Alpha Gamma Delta.
On the men’s side, following Vitiello in Punt Pass Kick were independent Dave Patterson ’02, P.J. Griswold ’02 of Delta Upsilon, and Garret Nicodemus ’04 of Gates, in that order.
The Tri-Delta team of Allan, Simone, Meredith Sabosik ’02, and Jessica Dotson ’02 took first place in whiffleball, with Pi Phi and Alpha Gamma Delta finishing second and third, respectively.
In the best-of-three whiffleball championship, FIJI defeated Phi Psi 11-9 in the first game, then prevailed again, 11-8, to earn first place. With Phi Psi settling for second place, Chi Phi finished third.
