As new general counsel for Investec USA Holdings, David R. Rappaport '81 is coordinating regulatory and legal issues on a global basis. He is responsible for legal and compliance services for Investec USA and its United States-based divisions, Investec Ernst & Company and Investec PMG Capital Corp.
For the past 10 years, Rappaport was with Gruntal & Co., rising to senior vice president and general counsel. He managed the company's legal and compliance departments.
Prior to joining Gruntal, Rappaport was an associate at a New York law firm, specializing in commercial and securities litigation, and was an assistant district attorney in Kings County, N.Y. An International Affairs graduate, he is a member of the New York State Bar and was admitted to the U.S. District Court. He earned a J.D. from American University.
