The International Students Association (ISA) has earned a total of 505 points to take first place at the midpoint of the intramural sports season, while Tri-Delt maintains a large lead with 519 points in the women’s division.
In the last intramural event of the semester, held at racquetball courts 3 and 4 in Kirby Sports Center, the Tri-Delt team of Katie Barillas, Jessie Abel, Keri Allan, and Shana Merrill won the walleyball tournament. Alpha Phi took second place and Alpha Gamma Delta finished third.
The Phi Psi team, comprised of Kharl Newlander, Blaine Williams, Aly Kheraj, and Bill Faust, prevailed in walleyball on the men’s side, losing the first set but winning the second to eliminate Gates Hall in the round robin tournament. ISA finished in third place.
Cindy Lee of Alpha Phi won the Nine Ball tournament, held Nov. 12-13 and 16 on the third-floor court at Kirby Sports Center. Her closest competitors, in order of finish, were Thea Fry and Danielle Neufell of Tri-Delt and Erin Vanacore of Delta Gamma.
Dan Huber of Phi Kappa prevailed in men’s Nine Ball, followed by Alex Balan of ISA, Jon Paul Marnien of Phi Psi, and David Mitchell of Ruef.
FIJI and Kappa Kappa Gamma won the Anchor Splash, held Nov. 25 in Ruef Natatorium. Also participating were the Chi Phi and Phi Psi fraternities and the Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Pi Phi sororities.
