Educational Resources Group will visit campus to recruit for teachers Thursday, March 7. Students who want to apply to the Job Vault for interviews must do so by midnight today.
Different types of teaching positions are available that require only a bachelor’s degree. Although there are more openings in math and science, there are also many positions in foreign languages, especially Spanish and classics. There also are a significant number of openings in English and history, but these represent the most competitive part of the market. Additional positions are available in physical education, art, and music.
Candidates who have coaching experience and skills as well as major extra-curricular talents have a distinct advantage, especially in the English and history fields. For those with majors not mentioned above, it is almost a requirement that they have a strong minor and an abundance of coaching and/or extra-curricular talents.
Educational Resources Group is a recruiting service working with 550 private schools located east of the Rockies from Florida to Maine. ERG is paid by the schools to locate, interview, and recommend candidates for specific teaching and administrative positions. There is no cost to the candidate and certification is not required.
