Theta Chi was right on the money in the Monopoly Marathon last month, sweeping the three top spots to move from second to first place in the intramural standings. Tri-Delta rests in first place in the women’s division after taking three of the four possible places in racquetball.
Theta Chi members Seth Kaufer, Jeff Palen, and Chris Secules all earned points in the eight-person “cut-throat style” tournament on the third floor of Kirby Sports Center.
Theta Chi also took first place in co-ed volleyball at Kamine Gymnasium, teaming up with Alpha Gamma Delta to sweep Phi Kappa in the best-of-three championship round (see picture below). P.T. Farinon took third place, followed by Kappa Kappa Kappa.
In 8-ball billiards on the third floor of Kirby Sports Center, Dave Mitchell and Peter Gray of Ruef Hall (see picture below) prevailed for the men, with the pairing of Phi Psi’s Jon-Paul Marnien and Josh Grubman in second place, and a third-place tie between Dan Huber and Chris Fazen of Phi Kappa and Joe Labita and Brad Schundler of Zeta Psi. On the women’s side, Cindy Lee and Tracy King of Alpha Phi prevailed over runners-up Amanda Simone and Emilie George of Tri-Delt.
In racquetball, Jessie Abel and Shana Merril of Tri Delt took first and second place, respectively, among five competitors in the Women’s Competitive division. Jessica Molek of PT Farinon prevailed over Keri Allen of Tri-Delt in the five-person Women’s Recreational bracket. Emerging from four pools of six to eight students, Jeff Childs of FIJI won the Men’s Competitive racquetball title, with Dan Huber of Phi Kappa in second and both Marko Glavic (McKeen Hall) and Jody Feldman (Zeta Psi) in third. Among two pools of six to eight players in the Men’s Recreational division, Shreehar Sasikumar (ISA) took first place, with Blaine Williams (Phi Psi) in second and both Walker Allen and Derek Strauss of Delta Upsilon tied for third.
