Comedian and actor Michael Dean Ester will perform standup comedy 8 p.m. today in the Farinon Center snackbar, followed by a concert with Allentown guitarist Adam Richman at Gilbert’s.
The free performances are sponsored by Lafayette Activities Forum.
Prior to these events, LAF will show the movie Harry Potter at 6 p.m. and again at 10 p.m. in Limburg Theater of Farinon. Admission is $2. The film also will be shown at the same times tomorrow and at 10 p.m. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Tomorrow, LAF will hold a campus version of the former MTV game show “Singled Out” 8 p.m. in the Farinon Center snackbar. As the show ran on MTV, 50 men and 50 women were put through a series of questions regarding their ideal kind of mate. By the end of the show, two couples were matched up for a “dream date” to an exotic location or exciting event.
Ester’s observations on college life are based on years of personal, and often painful, experiences. “He works clean – relying on strong, hard-hitting material and his arresting stage presence – never on bad language,” according to his booking agency, Neon Entertainment.
Ester has been honored by the National Association for Campus Activities with over a dozen regional showcase selections and a standing ovation at the NACA National Conference in 1999. A veteran of hundreds of college comedy shows, he has been featured on Comedy Central, E! Entertainment Television, and in the movie Senseless with David Spade.
Richman celebrated his 19th birthday with the completion of his debut, full-length CD, Two.
