Being an account executive with National City's private client group is a great fit, says Roger C. Wiegand '94. The group provides customers with a single contact for private banking, trust, investment management, and financial planning services. Wiegand is responsible for business development in metropolitan Pittsburgh.
“It's the best of two worlds,” says Wiegand. “My business development role is very entrepreneurial. I have the freedom to run with the ball, but I also have the buying power, name recognition, and support of the ninth largest bank.”
Having a solid organization behind him is especially important to Wiegand, who previously worked for an Internet start-up company.
“I was raising private equity for them-a good learning experience-but it feels a lot better to have a real office to go to,” he says.
Weigand, a government & law and religion graduate, earned an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
National City Corporation is a $91 billion financial holding company headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.
