Sept. 19, 2002

The new academic year is off to a busy start. This past weekend, the Lafayette community assembled to dedicate the new Pfenning Alumni Center. This exciting facility, which will serve as a gathering place for alumni, faculty, and students alike, brings the Lafayette Experience to life. Display cases in the building’s main corridor provide thumbnail sketches of Lafayette traditions past, current events in the life of the College, and the exciting new prospects for the future. Appropriately, the Center’s dedication took place on Alumni Volunteer Leadership Weekend. We honored some of these dedicated volunteers and benefactors at the annual Alumni Volunteer Awards Dinner Friday night.

With a number of beautiful fall weekends remaining, you have plenty of time to return and enjoy all that the Lafayette campus has to offer. This coming weekend (Sept. 21), we are pleased to welcome parents and other relatives for Family Weekend. And please make plans to join us for Homecoming on Oct. 19 and, of course, “THE GAME” (#138) on November 23!
