PPM America recently hired Anthony Balestrieri ’85 as senior managing director and portfolio manager in its Public Fixed Income/Portfolio Management group. He will manage Prudential plc’s life fund, which has about $15 billion in assets.

Before joining PPMA, Balestrieri worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he managed $16 billion in institutional fixed income assets. Throughout his 17-year career, Balestrieri has worked for a number of financial services organizations, gaining experience in asset management, investment product design, and sales. He joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in 1999 as director, Americas; Fixed Income.

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Baletrieri served as senior vice president, short-term strategies group, for Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, where he directed portfolio management and trading activities. Balestrieri has also worked as a portfolio manager for Bankers Trust Company and as an investment analyst and account executive for Metropolitan Life.

He majored in economics & business and government & law.
