Erica J. Crespi, who has published her work in the journals Molecular Ecology and Endocrinology, will give a lecture on the effect of stress hormones on food intake 4:10 p.m. today in the Kunkel Hall auditorium.

Sponsored by the biology department, the talk is open to the campus community. The full title of the lecture is “The effect of stress hormones on food intake: How corticotropin-releasing hormone and corticosterone regulate foraging behavior in amphibians.”

Crespi is a candidate for a position on the biology faculty. Those attending the talk are welcome to provide feedback to the department.

Crespi earned her Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. She was a Reproductive Sciences Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, and department of ecological and evolutionary biology at the University of Michigan. Its Institute for Research on Women and Gender sponsored a talk by Crespi in December on “Maternal Influences on Life-long Health: an Ecological Perspective.”

The second of four candidates for a biology faculty position to give a talk will be Richard Essner, who will speak on “”Locomotion, Morthology, and Habitat Use in Arboreal Squirrels” 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the Kunkel Hall auditorium.
