Shara Gregory ’04 of Collegeville, Pa., Michael Lestingi ’04, of Centerville, Ohio, and recent graduate Tarik Ghanim ’03 of Amman, Jordan, received Fulbright grants for postgraduate studies. Gregory will study in Germany, Lestingi in Russia, and Ghanim will conduct studies in the United States.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TEAM FINISHES SECOND IN HUMAN-POWERED VEHICLE CONTEST
Lafayette finished second among 20 entries in the East Coast/Midwest American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Human-Powered Vehicle Challenge May 7-9 in Gainesville, Fla. The team of six mechanical engineering seniors finished first in endurance, third in design, and fourth in sprint events. The vehicle was the only one to complete the 65 km endurance without a mechanical breakdown.
