The American Society of Naval Engineers sponsors a scholarship program to encourage students to enter the field of naval engineering and provide support to naval engineers seeking advanced education in the field. Programs of study that apply include mechanical, civil, aeronautical, and electrical engineering, and the physical sciences.
Scholarship awards of $2,500 for undergraduate students and $3,500 for graduate students will be made for the 2005-2006 academic year. The candidate must be a citizen of the United States and demonstrate a genuine interest in a career in naval engineering. Rising seniors and seniors who will be attending graduate school are eligible to apply.
Scholarship information and applications are available at www.navalengineers.org under “Scholarships.” Printed materials are available in the financial aid office, 107 Markle Hall. The deadline for receipt of applications is Feb. 15, 2005.
