The film Paul Robeson: Tribute to an Artist will be screened 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Farinon Center’s Limburg Theater.
The 29-minute documentary features Robeson’s life, art, and politics. Actor Sidney Poitier narrates rare film footage of Robeson at home and abroad, and highlights his accomplishments from the theater, the concert stage, and the movie studio.
Lafayette will inaugurate a series of major conferences on the history and culture of civil rights and civil liberties with a three-day conference entitled “Paul Robeson: His History and Development as an Intellectual” on campus April 7-9.
