Zach, Taylor, and Isaac Hanson will make an appearance noon-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 in Colton Chapel.
As part of its Live and Electric Tour ’05, Hanson will talk to students about its experiences in the music business, emphasizing its success as an independent label.
A “meet and greet” will take place at noon in Farinon Atrium, a screening of the group’s documentary from 1-3:30 p.m. at Colton Chapel, and a question-and-answer session will follow.
The self-produced documentary Strong Enough to Break illustrates the group’s perception of the state of the music industry and motives for setting up 3CG Records.
“Hanson was very popular when most of Lafayette students were in middle school. We think it will be a fun ‘blast from the past’ for students,” says Danielle Ward ’08 (Chatham, N.J.), Lafayette Activities Forum music co-chair. “We also think it will be interesting for students to be able to interact with famous people in the middle of the school day.”
In addition, if time permits, Hanson will allow students to vote for one of three local bands– Hardy the Hero, Strikes Again, and Afterdrama — as the opening act for its upcoming show at Crocodile Rock in Allentown.
Live and Electric Tour ’05 promotes The Best of Hanson Live and Electric, featuring platinum hits such as “MmmBop” and “Where’s the Love.”
Ward notes that in middle school her favorite Hanson was Taylor; however, she is currently more partial to Isaac. Her fellow co-chair, John Theil ’06 (Langhorne, Pa.), declined to comment.
