Lafayette will host the North American Table Tennis (NATT) Stiga Open at Kirby Sports Center Saturday and Sunday. Featuring top competitors from as far away as Texas and Colorado, the event is sanctioned as a four-star tournament by USA Table Tennis.
Admission is free. The action is scheduled to begin 9 a.m. Saturday for the second NATT tournament at Kirby Sports Center this year.
“Lafayette is one of the most congenial hosts we know [and] very interested in the tournament, providing ice-cold water and cups, plenty of seating and responsive to all the tournament’s needs,” according to NATT. “It attracts a diverse playing population, too, thanks to the location.
“We chose Easton because of the easy commute distances from Philly, New York City, New Jersey and the northeastern U.S., but the location also impresses with its flexibility. Easton is a college town with small town charm but big city conveniences Lighting [at Kirby Sports Center] is superb, nine on a scale of 10.”
More information about the tournament is available on the NATT website.
