When Daniel Fitzgerald ’03 joined the Lafayette Alumni Online Community, he was looking to “pay forward” a good deed that had benefited him.
“I joined for networking,” explains the economics and business graduate. “I got my current job through a Lafayette connection and hope to be able to help another alumnus in a similar way.”
Fitzgerald recently moved to Connecticut and resides in Stamford. He is an attorney with Ivey, Barnum & O’Mara in Greenwich, where he works in the trust and estates practice group.
“I work with high net worth clients to ensure their assets are disposed of according to their wishes while minimizing estate taxes,” says Fitzgerald. “In addition, I represent fiduciaries in the administration of estates.”
He hopes to remain connected to Lafayette by joining the Fairfield County Alumni Chapter. Fitzgerald also attends fraternity events, and regularly gets together with classmates and friends. Still, the online community affords him a convenient opportunity to reconnect with old classmates.
Asked what he enjoys about the community, Fitzgerald says, “Seeing what people are up to and getting in touch with people I hadn’t spoken to while I was in law school.”
And maybe helping a new friend land a job.
