This semester’s session of personalized music lessons will once again culminate with student recitals.
Several students taking piano, flute, saxophone, and bass lessons with music department instructors will perform 12 p.m. May 3 in Williams Center for the Arts room 123.
The program will open with four piano soloists.
Psychology major Jacqueline Macri ’09 (Malvern, Pa.), will start the afternoon concert by performing the first movement of Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Sonata in D minor.”
Chemical engineering major Barbara Naimoli ’09 (New Holland, Pa.) will follow by playing Frederic Chopin’s “Fantasie Impromptu.”
Economics and business major Jessica Bigness ’07 (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) will perform “The Cat and the Mouse” by Aaron Copland.
History major Sean Gough ’09 (North Plainfield, N.J.) will complete the piano solos with a performance of “Soaring, op. 12” by Robert Schumann
Biochemistry major Hannah Tuson ’06 (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) will continue the concert by playing “Scherzino” by J. Anderson on the flute.
The recital will wrap up with two trio performances.
The first group, consisting of Allison Shapp ’08 (Plainview, N.Y.) on flute; Gough on piano; and chemical engineering major Pat Kelly ’08 (Henrietta, N.Y.) on bass, will play “Javanaise” from Claude Bolling’s “Suite for Flute & Jazz Trio.”
The final group: philosophy major Greg Martin ’08 (Chappaqua, N.Y.) on saxophone; Gough; and Kelly, will perform “Recordame”by Joe Henderson.
