Students will have the opportunity to check out what Lafayette has to offer outside the classroom at the annual Activities Fair 7-9 p.m. Aug. 30 in Farinon College Center.

Organizations represented will include club sports, cultural and social organizations, engineering societies, governing groups, academic groups, performance arts groups, and religious organizations. Last year, over 80 student organizations participated, and more are expected this year. Students may obtain more information and sign up for groups that interest them.

“Being involved in activities outside the classroom offers many opportunities for growth and development,” says Lauren Ibbotson, assistant director of student life programs. “Studies also show that students who are involved in the College’s co-curriculum – clubs, athletics, the arts, volunteering, etc. – as well as engaged in the classroom, are happier and more successful in college.”

Campus groups and organizations that would like to have a table at the fair may sign up 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday in the Office of Student Life. They also may sign up by 6:45 p.m. Wednesday at Farinon. Tables are allotted on a first come, first serve basis. All student groups and organizations are invited to attend.

For more information, stop by the Office of Student Life Programs, 115 Farinon, or call x5337.
