In observance of the fifth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93, Interfaith Chapel in Hogg Hall has been reserved for meditation and reflection from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday Sept. 11. Members of the campus community who wish to have a quiet place in which to reflect on the anniversary are welcome to do so.

John P. Colatch, director of religious life and College chaplain, says a low key observance was decided upon, but he understands some people may hold the fifth anniversary as a significant marker.

“It is important that if people feel the need, they will have a place to go,” he says. “Also, if anyone is in need of pastoral care, we are right across the hall to help.”

It is expected that informal discussion and reflection will also take place in various classes leading up to and throughout the day.

Four members of the Lafayette family lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center, Neil D. Levin ’76, Eric R. Thorpe ’89, Jeff LeVeen P’89, and William H. Pohlman P’96.
