Dear Class of 2006,

This past summer I had the opportunity to work at the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey. Through your donation, I was able to work closely with various departments of the Chamber, and see firsthand the important service that the Chamber provides to businesses throughout the tri-state region. My jobs included planning the 2006 Business Exposition, creating reports for the President, aiding in member retention, and providing necessary research. I had the opportunity to refine my communication and networking skills through various networking events with members of the Chamber. These events included the Pinnacle Awards, Procurement Fair, and the Summer Institute Awards. Due to your gracious support, I was able to learn the role that the Chamber plays at the state house and how the organization is a vital voice on public policy issues that impact business. One of the more interesting parts of my summer was during the New Jersey State shut down. I had the chance to observe how the Chamber played an important role in responding to the demands of the state and businesses at a critical time.

My work at the Chamber allowed me to explore the opportunities available to me at a not-for-profit organization and provided me with an in-depth view of how a not-for- profit serves its various members. As I begin my search for a job this year, I am grateful for the skills that I learned this summer at the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey and to you for aiding me in this journey. Thank you for donating to the Class of 2006 Stipend.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Mishik
