Lafayette’s highly-successful, student-run Election Night broadcast can be viewed at any time on your computer by accessing this link.

The event, which was sponsored by the College’s new Policy Studies program and guided by consultants from MBC Teleproductions of Allentown, was broadcast live from studios in Pfenning Alumni Center Nov. 7.In addition to reaching a potential world-wide audience via webcast, the live telecast was viewed on RCN Lehigh Valley Cable Network, which reaches 345,000 homes, and on the College’s internal cable system. It was also shown on the new jumbo scoreboard at Fisher Stadium, where it was seen by an audience gathered at the alumni center’s Bourger Plaza.

A little more than two hours in length, the broadcast, dubbed ENvision, featured up-to-the-minute tracking of results, predictions, student-reported stories, analysis from student and alumni political commentators, and unscripted “student lounge” discussions.

The broadcast also included pre-recorded, student-produced segments that focused on various issues of the day. Included were takes on Pennsylvania’s gambling legislation, banning of violent video games, negative campaigning, and an examination of various ballot initiatives.
