The Pittsburgh Xplosion, a team in the Continental Basketball Association, has signed forward Frank Barr ’01 to a contract.
Barr, a 7-foot, 220-pound former standout for Lafayette, spent the 2005-06 season playing for Al Manama in Bahrain. He played professionally in Saudi Arabia in 2003-04 and briefly played for Xplosion general manager Freddie Lewis as a member of the Pennsylvania Pit Bulls in 2004-05.
He is second on Lafayette’s career list for blocks with 160.
Update: In just his second game with the team, Barr paced the Xplosion with 25 points in a loss to the Indiana AlleyCats. However, the team has released him.
