After graduating from Lafayette, Oliver Bowen ’05 lived and worked in the Lehigh Valley. It was easy for him to return to campus to visit friends and professors.
The electrical and computer engineering graduate worked for Lutron Electronics, a company specializing in lighting control, as an electrical engineer in the embedded-systems field.
But, he decided to go back to school. He is pursuing a master’s degree at Imperial College in London.
Even though Lafayette is no longer just a short drive away, Bowen feels connected because he joined the Alumni Online Community.
“I joined the Lafayette Alumni Online Community to keep up to date with alumni events and to gain access to my classmates’ contact information,” he explains. “It is nice to know that I have that access to other alums’ contact information, and that I will have access to any news from my classmates that gets posted.”
Bowen has advice for those deciding whether to register for the online community.
“The more people who register and maintain up-to-date information, the more successful it will be in helping us stay connected,” he says. “I would encourage all alumni to register.”
