He is senior vice president of worldwide manufacturing at Cisco
Angel Mendez ’82, senior vice president of worldwide manufacturing at Cisco, has received the Visionary Achiever of the Year Award from the Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association. The honor recognizes his “commitment to excellence in corporate America” and contributions to expanding opportunities for Hispanics in the information technology industry.
Mendez’s work with Latino youth has been extensive. He also is a member of the board of directors at Springboard Forward, a Silicon Valley nonprofit dedicated to deploying innovative coaching and career development programs for low-wage earners. He was instrumental in developing and advocating for Conexion at Cisco, which provides Latino Cisco employees mentors and other professional development opportunities. It also connects Cisco volunteers to local schools and a range of Latino community and educational organizations.
Mendez leads a global organization of approximately 2,000 employees who are responsible for enabling Cisco’s growth through supply chain management practices. This includes global supplier management, manufacturing and product operations, advanced sourcing, reverse logistics, manufacturing technology and quality, and demand management and planning.
He is a member of Lafayette’s Board of Trustees.
