Deadline for National Conference on Undergraduate Research Abstracts is Nov. 7

All abstracts must be reviewed by the College’s Academic Research Committee

Students wishing to present at the 22nd National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) must submit their research abstracts to the Academic Research Committee (ARC) prior to Nov. 7.

NCUR provides some 2,200 undergraduates from more than 250 colleges and universities an avenue to present research running the full spectrum of academic disciplines. It is the largest conference dedicated solely to undergraduate research in the nation.

This will be Lafayette’s 21st year of participation in NCUR with more than 550 students being accepted to present their research. Last school year, 21 students presented at NCUR 2007.

This school year’s conference will be held April 10-12, 2008, at Salisbury University in Maryland. Abstract deadline for entry is Dec. 1, but all abstracts must first go through the ARC review process.

Abstracts should be 250-300 words and include: student name and email address; name of faculty mentor; proposed title; and should note if the student has previously presented at a professional conference or at NCUR. All abstracts must be reviewed and endorsed by a faculty member in the student’s discipline. Online abstract submission forms can be found on the NCUR website.

Students should email a copy of the abstract to Howard Bodenhorn, professor of economics and business, and submit a hard copy with their faculty mentor’s signature to: Professor Howard Bodenhorn, Department of Economics & Business, 110 Simon Center.
