Numerous events will take place Nov. 12-16
Lafayette will celebrate the campus’ second International Education Week (IEW) Nov. 12-16 with the theme, “International Education: Fostering Global Citizenship and Respect.” The International Students Association (ISA) is organizing a weeklong series of discussions, performances, and games to recognize the contribution of international diversity on campus.
The events are cosponsored by Hispanic Society of Lafayette (HSL), International Affairs Club, Zeta Psi, French Club, Career Services, foreign languages and literatures department, and the American Association of Teachers of French.
IEW was established in 2000 through a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education to celebrate benefits of international education and exchange. The goals of IEW are to promote international understanding, encourage development of programs that prepare American students to live and work in a global environment and, also, to attract future leaders from abroad to study in the U.S. Currently, IEW is celebrated at schools, colleges, universities, embassies, and international organizations of over 100 countries worldwide.
