Event was part of Marquis de Lafayette’s 250th birthday celebration

Le Cercle Fran�ais (French Club) has announced the winners of the “Marquis on the Marquee” film festival.

The contest was open to any language student in a secondary school program. The submissions needed to be bilingual with French to English subtitles, English to French subtitles, or French and English speakers, and also needed to focus in some way on the Marquis de Lafayette.

Entries were received from students and classes at Parkland High School, Moravian Academy, Liberty High School, and the Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pa.

The festival, which was sponsored by the foreign language and literatures department and the American Association of Teachers of French, was part of the College’s yearlong celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Marquis de Lafayette.

2007 “Marquis on the Marquee” Finalists:

The Grand Prix goes to Liberty High School for the best all around portrayal and reenactment of the young Marquis with “Lafayette.”
