Students should RSVP by March 6

Alumni who are currently in law school or are young attorneys will share perspectives and advice with current students who are considering legal professions at the annual Law School and Young Attorney Alumni event 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in Pfenning Alumni Center, Wilson Room. The event is being hosted by the Office of the Dean of the College.

Students should RSVP by Thursday, March 6, to Gloria Takacs, administrative assistant for the Office of the Dean of the College. Students must also reserve their seats with a $10 refundable deposit, which can be dropped off at the Office of the Dean of the College. Attire is business casual.

Students will enjoy dinner and conversation with alumni, followed by a two-part panel discussion. The first part will feature alumni currently in law school and the second part will consist of alumni who have recently begun practicing.

Alumni participating on the first panel include Joseph Costello `07, attending Fordham Law School; Virginia Foulkrod `05, attending Pace Law School; Brendan O’Dea `07, attending Brooklyn School of Law; Allison Owen `07, attending the George Washington School of Law; Brandon Sipple `06, attending Villanova Law School; and Lori Weaver `06, attending the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Included on the second panel are William Hofmann `01, who attended Villanova Law School and now works for Smith, Stratton, Wise, Heher & Brennan, LLP, Susan Royster `01, who attended Pittsburgh Law School and now represents Fitzpatrick, Lentz & Bubba, P.C., Leslie Saint `04, a graduate of Cornell Law School and current employed at of Schneck, Price, Smith & King, LLP, and William Simmons `04, a graduate of Rutgers Newark Law School and works at Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP.

“This is a terrific opportunity for undergraduates to hear about the realities of law school and the challenges of developing a legal career,” says Karen Clemence, senior associate dean of the College. “Alumni are generous with their time and find it very satisfying to be able to share insight and advice with students who are trying to explore legal professions and make decisions about their futures.”
