The 603 members of the Class of 2012 were officially welcomed to campus on Friday morning during Convocation ceremonies opening the College’s 177th academic year. President Daniel H. Weiss and Student Government president Amanda Pisetzner ’10 provided welcoming remarks.

Daniel Goldberg ’09, Daniella Colon ’10, Jennifer Bell ’11, and Michael Adelman ’10, student officers in Lafayette Environmental Protection and Awareness, spoke on the connections between education and the environment and the importance of getting involved in the College’s intellectual community.

President Weiss greeted the class, saying, “The message to take away from [convocation] today is that we are delighted to have you here. You make this college what it is. The students make this place come alive, and you have joined us. We’re delighted about that and we look forward to a great adventure with you over the next several years.”
