Jessica Calaman Snyder ’01 admits that she doesn’t always devote as much time as she’d like to staying connected with old friends. The Alumni Online Community is making that a little easier for the chemical engineering graduate.“Sometimes it is hard to stay in touch,” she says. “The online community makes it easier to get back in touch or just network with fellow alumni. I joined to see what my classmates are up to and to let them know about myself.”
Snyder was excited to announce the birth of her daughter, Gretchen Renee. She says the online community has allowed her to re-establish friendships with its easy-to-navigate directory.
“There are marriages, job transfers, people all over the world, etc.,” she says. “I enjoy seeing where everyone has ended up and being able to send an email just to say, ‘hi.’”
A senior engineer for Rohm and Haas Company, Snyder is project leader for the company’s North American footprint re-design effort. She is responsible for transferring products from one manufacturing facility to another.
