Carol Collier, executive director of the Delaware River Basin Commission, will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 in Oeschle Hall room 224. Her talk, “Trouble in River City,” will deal with current and future challenges in managing the Delaware River. It is free and open to the public.
The talk will kick off a year-long series of programs at Lafayette in policy, science, and art focused around the theme of water. The series is co-sponsored by the College, a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Nature Nurture Foundation of Easton.
Collier has directed DRBC since 1998 and is known nationally for her work in water resource planning and management. She serves on the boards of the American Water Resources Association and the Clean Water America Alliance. In 2007, she was awarded the Mary H. Marsh Medal from the American Water Resources Association for her exemplary contributions to the protection and wise use of the nation’s water resources.
