In the College’s 13 Division I spring sports 185 students were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the honor roll, student athletes need to record at least a 3.20 grade point average during the semester.
The baseball team tied with Bucknell for most honorees of any school in the Patriot League with 17 students. Andrew Ruck ’13 (Ontario, Canada), a mechanical engineering major, led the Leopards with a 3.82 GPA.
Michael Gruner ’10 has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll four years straight and led the men’s basketball team this spring with a 4.0 GPA.
Men’s basketball placed six students on the honor roll. Michael Gruner ’10 has been named to the honor all four years and led the way with a 4.0 GPA. Seven women’s basketball players qualified with Samantha Jordan ’13 (Manassas, Va.) leading the way with a 4.0.
Lafayette’s Patriot League Champion golf squad placed eight students on the honor roll, led by a 3.92 GPA from David Kafafian ’13 (East Brunswick, N.J.), an economics major.
The men’s lacrosse team led the Patriot League with 27 student athletes making the honor roll. Stewart Inman ’10 and Tyler Silvey ’10 (Phoenix, Md.), a double major in government & law and Spanish, both notched a 3.92 GPA, the highest on the team in the spring semester. The women’s lacrosse team also led the Patriot League with 20 students qualifying. Samantha Dalmass ’13 (Moorestown, N.J.) had a team-high 3.85 GPA. Maria Drehwing ’10, who was second on the team with a 3.8 GPA, has been on the honor roll four times.
The softball team placed eight students on the honor roll, with English and art double major Ali Henry ’11 (Warrington, Pa.) leading the way with a 3.76 GPA.
A combined 40 members of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving team have been named to the honor roll. William Hoffman ’10, Jonathon Jenkins ’10, Stephen Rubino ’10, and Kristin Tyler ’10 all took top honors with 4.0 GPAs.
Six members of the women’s tennis team and seven members of the men’s team qualified for the honor roll. English and psychology double major Kristie Cavanagh ’11 (New Providence, N.J.) posted her third consecutive 4.0 GPA to lead the women, and economics major James St. Onge ’13 (Bedford, Mass.) was tops among the men with a 4.0.
The track and field teams placed 46 students on the honor roll, with19 from the men’s team and 27 from the women’s team. Nick Orzol ’13 (Mercerville, N.J.), an electrical and computer engineering major, led the men with a 4.0, while Allison Hawkey ’11 (Hainesport, N.J.), an anthropology & sociology and history double major, led the women with a 3.92 GPA.
