Donald McCluskey ’36, associate professor emeritus of English, died Sept. 20. He was a resident of Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, Pa.
After graduating from Lafayette, he earned a Ph.D. from Yale in 1941. Following military service, he joined the Department of English as an instructor in 1946. He was promoted to assistant professor in 1950 and to associate professor in 1958. He was elected to emeritus status upon his retirement in 1980.
The family requests memorials be sent to Skillman Library or the VNA Hospice of St. Luke’s.
Rosie Bukics, acting clerk of the faculty, informed the faculty Sept. 23 that a memorial resolution committee will be formed with David Johnson, professor and head of English, serving as chair.
