San Francisco 49er Blake Costanzo ’06 celebrates after forcing a fumble in the NFL divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints.
National Football League special teams standout Blake Costanzo ’06 has signed a new contract, reportedly two years, with the Chicago Bears. The linebacker tweeted about the new contract yesterday, thanking San Francisco 49ers fans and expressing his excitement to Bears fans.
Costanzo played a big role in helping the 49ers advance in last season’s playoffs, forcing one fumble and recovering another in a 36-32 upset victory over the New Orleans Saints. He had two tackles and an assisted tackle in the subsequent loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
He majored in anthropology and sociology at Lafayette.
