Rorbert (Bob) E. Sell '84
Robert “Bob” E. Sell ’84, a member of the College’s Board of Trustees, has been named group chief executive of Accenture’s Communications, Media, and Technology Operating Group.
Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing company based in New York City, made the announcement April 13. Sell joined Accenture in 1984 and became a partner in 1995.
Sell, also a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee, previously served as managing director of the Communications, Media, and Technology North America Unit. He has significant experience across many industries and has held a variety of leadership roles during his 28-year career at the company. He has managed business relationships with some of Accenture’s largest global clients such as Verizon, AT&T, Microsoft, and Viacom. Given the clients he has served and the scope of his work, he has a unique perspective on the state of technology and innovation, stated the company’s press release.
An economics graduate, Sell has been deeply involved with Lafayette since graduation. He is vice chair, Board Committee on Student Life, member, Board Committee on Information Technology, and chair, Board Nominating Committee. He served as president of the Maroon Club from 1999-2000 and president of the Alumni Association from 2004-2006. He was a member of the search committee that brought President Daniel H. Weiss to Lafayette in 2005.
Sell and his wife, Susan J. Sell, of Far Hills, N.J., are members of the Societe d’Honneur. He is the son of Richard H. Sell Jr. ’60, brother of Steven ’90, Kyle ’92, and brother-in-law of Robin Karcher Sell ’91.
A member of the executive and membership committees of Hamilton Farm Golf Club, Sell represents Accenture on the board of New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce.
