We are pleased to provide a status update on the College’s search for its 17th president.
As described previously, members of the Presidential Search Committee traveled the country hosting forums with alumni, parents, and friends to discuss the state of the College, to discern the opportunities and challenges facing our next president, and to solicit opinions on those qualifications and important characteristics that a successful candidate should possess. These discussions, as well as those conducted on campus with faculty, staff, and students, have been very helpful to the committee, as has the information shared via the survey on the presidential website.
The search committee continues to follow closely the schedule it established in early July. During the past few weeks it has worked closely with our search firm, Storbeck/Pimentel, in the evaluation of applications and with the initial round of candidate interviews. We’re pleased to report that the quality of the candidates participating in the search has been outstanding. Additional interviewing will take place during the coming weeks, and the committee is hopeful that it can achieve its original goal of making a final recommendation to the Board of Trustees prior to the beginning of the spring semester.
As always, should you have any logistical questions regarding the search process, please do not hesitate to contact James F. Krivoski, administrative secretary to the Board of Trustees and secretary to the Presidential Search Committee, at krivoskj@lafayette.edu.
Thank you for your continued interest in Lafayette’s presidential search. As the search process unfolds, we will keep our community updated.
