From the College’s seven Division I fall sports teams, 75 students were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the honor roll, student athletes need to record at least a 3.20 grade point average during the semester.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams combined for nine honor roll students. Andrew Warshauer ’15 (Warren, N.J.), a chemical engineering major, led the men with a 3.88 GPA, and Grace Watters ’15 (Red Bank, N.J.), also a chemical engineering major, led the women with a 3.86 GPA.

Ten members of the field hockey team have been named to the honor roll. Sally Trout ’16 (Seven Valleys, Pa.) had the highest GPA on the team with a 3.93. Emily Valeo ’13 (Norristown, Pa.), an English major, and Jaclyn White ’13 (Clarksboro, N.J.), a geology major, were both on the honor roll for a fourth consecutive season. Valeo had a 3.80 GPA and White a 3.78. This season, Lafayette won its second straight Patriot League Field Hockey Championship.

The football program had 22 members earn a place on the honor roll. Brad Bormann ’14 (Flemington, N.J.), a biology major, was one of just three football players in the league to record a perfect 4.0. Bormann, who was also named to the honor roll in 2010 and 2011, joined economics major Mark Ross ’14 (Aliquippa, Pa.) on the 2012 Academic All-Patriot League Team.

The 2012 Patriot League champion men’s soccer team had 13 students named to the honor roll. Blake Fink ’13 (Westampton, N.J.), a government and law major, Kyle Scharfenberg ’13 (Sylvania, Ohio), a double major in economics and policy studies, and Zach Winthrop ’13 (Philadelphia, Pa.), a biology major, were all four-time honorees.  Winthrop was one of only five men’s soccer players in the league to post a 4.0, and Fink also earned a spot on the 2012 Academic All-Patriot League Team.

Thirteen members of the women’s soccer team were selected to the honor roll. Bridget Becker ’13 (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), an international economics and commerce major, and Lauren Smedley ’13 (Hamilton, N.J.), a neuroscience major, were both honored for the fourth season. Smedley was one of only 10 women’s soccer players in the league to post a 4.0, and she was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.

The volleyball squad had eight members named to the honor roll. Lauren Pisauro ’16 (Washington Crossing, Pa.) had the highest GPA on the team with a 3.83. Kaitlynn Zoller ’13 (Solon, Ohio), a mechanical engineering major, and Michelle Woodworth ’15 (Seattle, Wash.), an economics major, were both honored for the second consecutive season. Zoller had a 3.28 GPA and Woodworth a 3.68.
