167 Students Named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

In the College’s 13 Division I spring sports, 167 students were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this distinction, student athletes need to record at least a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) during the semester.

David Kafafian ’13 led the golf team with a 4.0 GPA this spring.

Twelve members of the baseball team claimed places on the honor roll, which is the highest amount in the league. Tim Lazor ’15 (Newtown, Pa.), a mathematics major, led the team with a 3.93 GPA.

The men’s basketball team had four players named to the honor roll.  Joey Ptasinski ’15 (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), a biology major, collected his second selection with a 3.6 GPA. He also earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team.

Ten members of the women’s basketball team were named to the honor roll. Morgan Miller ’16 (Cranford, Pa.), a mathematics-economics major, led the list of honorees with a 4.0 GPA.

Six Lafayette golfers were named to the list. David Kafafian ’13, who graduated with an A.B. with majors in economics and government & law and was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, led the Leopards with a 4.0 GPA along with Josh Feinberg ’14 (Hudson, Mass.), a double major in government & law and anthropology & sociology.

The men’s lacrosse team had 16 selections to the honor roll. Anthony Zawadzki ’13, who graduated with a B.S. in economics, and psychology major Jake Mann ’14 (Naperville, Ill.) led the team with 4.0 GPAs.

Twenty-three members of the women’s lacrosse team made the cut. Katie Denning ’16 (Mcmurray, Pa.), an English major, led the honorees with a 4.0 GPA.

The softball program had nine players qualify for the honor roll. Government and law graduate Jordan Parsons ’13 secured the top spot with a 3.90 GPA.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams placed a league-leading 36 student-athletes on the honor roll. Six students led the team with 4.0 GPAs: Lauren Berry ’14 (Havertown, Pa.), a psychology major; Christina Brown ’13, who graduated with an A.B. in biology; Adam Gill ’14 (Wayne, N.J.), a double major in history and economics; Matt Jouny ’15 (Easton, Pa.), a chemical engineering major; Jane Kuntz ’15 (Lancaster, Pa.), a psychology major; and Kelsey Theriault ’13, who graduated with a B.S. in history.

Two members of the men’s tennis team and five members of the women’s tennis team were named to the honor roll. Brandon Goldstein ’15 (Livingston, N.J.), an economics major who was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, led the men with a 4.0 GPA, and Alison Dally ’13, who graduated with an A.B. in international affairs, and economics major Amanda Kusnierz ’14 (West Orange, N.J.) both led the women with 3.75 GPAs.

The track and field team placed 44 members on the honor roll. Seven students posted 4.0 GPAs: Thomas Day ’16 (Haddam, Conn.), a physics major; Nick Hepp ’13, who graduated with an A.B. in engineering studies; Megan Matusky ’13, who graduated with an A.B. with majors in English and psychology; Ryan McVeigh ’13, who graduated with an A.B. in engineering studies; Claire Murphy ’15 (Hastings-On-Hudson, N.Y.), an anthropology and sociology major; Nick Orzol ’13, who graduated with a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering; and Kelly Senters ’13, who graduated with an A.B with majors in international affairs and government & law.
