The exterior and courtyard of Grossman House
The College’s environmentally sustainable renovation of the Grossman House for Global Perspectives has been featured in the December edition of University Business magazine. The publication covers topics in higher education management for presidents and other senior officers at two- and four-year colleges and universities.
Built on High Street in 1915 by the Pennsylvania Sigma Deuteron Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, Grossman House was renovated in 2011-12 and was awarded LEED-CI Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It contains both single- and double-occupancy rooms for 25 students and a large library on the first floor where residents and other members of the campus community can gather for special events and discussions. The program allows students to design their own activities with the guidance of faculty advisers to explore globalization and what it means to live in a multicultural world. It is named in honor of Richard A. Grossman ’64 and his wife, Rissa Welt Grossman.
