Even before new student orientation began, a group of 36 first-year students were volunteering in the Lafayette and Easton communities through the Landis Center’s Pre-orientation Service Program. The new students teamed with upperclassmen to help with five local service projects. The work included renovations in the West Ward neighborhood, day camps in conjunction with Landis’ Kids and Teens in the Community programs, and crafts and games at the Easton Area Senior Center.

    and commuted to campus from September 1965 through
    June 1969 mostly by Shoe Leather Express.
