A team of students spent their winter break promoting community health in the rural areas of Peru’s Sacred Valley. Through Alternative School Break, the group partnered with the nonprofit Sacred Valley Health/Ayni Wasi to give basic preventative health education to villagers and farmers in the country’s Ollantaytambo region. They provided supplies, information, and demonstrations of teeth brushing, hand washing, and general nutrition. Sacred Valley Health was co-founded by Emily Groves ’05.
