Area behind Hogg Hall gets beautiful facelift thanks to generous donors
Story by Jill Spotz; photos by Clay Wegrzynowicz
What was once a sea of sidewalks behind Hogg Hall is now a beautiful space for the campus community. The updated courtyard features pedestrian bluestone paving, and a granite-veneer wall will be completed soon. Named for its benefactors, lifelong friends Lawrence Schwartz ’62 and Howard Schoor ’61, Schwartz-Schoor Plaza offers outdoor seating and space for students to gather.
Simultaneously, the entrance to campus on March Street leading to the new plaza also underwent a facelift and now features a visually pleasing entryway with updated paving and landscaping. The new Houldin Walk is named in honor of the Houldin family, whose legacy spans many generations.
