Photographer Clay Wegrzynowicz '20 chooses and explains his favorite images
This photo, taken during a Day in the Life series on Finals Week, is unique in that I used the reflection of the outside in the glass to isolate my subject, Sophia Giovanelli '20, who is the only person looking out as everyone else looks to their books. Kate Rogers walks with her boyfriend. Somehow I picked up on their relationship before they were officially dating, and asked them to ''look at each other romantically''. Going on walks was a key part of their developing relationship. Sue Herschlag and her international friendship students attend the Easton Mardi Gras parade. 'Hugs and kisses' are my favorite moments from Move-in Day, and this one took the top spot from all of this year's reactions. This was my favorite lab shoot from this year, featuring Prof. Manuel Ospina-Giraldo and Nick Grams ’19. Charles Evans '19 stole the stage at graduation with an impressive jig before receiving his diploma. Lauren Krock '22 was in freefall when I took this photo, making her appear as if she was floating in the air. Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center opened this year, and the grand opening ceremony was impressive in its scope, highlighting just how open the space is with four levels of open walkways. Camilla Samuelsson '20 was engaged in her studies as I saw her during the last pretty day of 2019, right before all the trees lost their leaves to the chill. 2019 saw Lafayette's first win over Lehigh in four years, a truly momentous occasion for seniors in particular.
