The COVID-19 lockdown shut down mass-transit systems, shuttered gyms, and closed down playgrounds and phys-ed classes. As a result, people found alternative ways to commute, to exercise, and to help their kids burn off some energy. Often, the solution was on two wheels.

As the nation returns to its “new normal,” perhaps this bicycling boom will be something to stay.
