News story discusses tuition adjustments for students not receiving on-campus instruction
ABC News interviewed President Alison Byerly as part of a story about how colleges and universities are approaching tuition this fall.
The report includes how Lafayette College reversed a planned 3.75% increase in tuition and is offering a 10% discount to students who study from home. President Byerly said the decision is fair to students who are going to miss out on the “campus experience.”
“The experience of studying from home is quite different,” Byerly told ABC News. “If you don’t have access to the library, to campus facilities, if you’re not going to be on campus with students, you shouldn’t have to pay full price.”
