WFMZ-TV interviewed professor of government and public service about the Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania governor
The 2022 Pennsylvania gubernatorial election will take place on November 8, 2022, to elect the next governor of the state, with Democrat Attorney General Josh Shapiro and Republican state senator Doug Mastriano each vying for election.
WFMZ-TV spoke to John Kincaid, Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service, for his insight into Shapiro’s proposed economic plan.
“Shapiro is trying to put an optimistic face on the economic situation and saying ‘look, we’re going get through this, and if I’m governor, we’re going to do these great things to improve the economy,'” Kincaid said while acknowledging, “I don’t think the plan directly addresses the concerns of Republican voters in the state who tend to live in the more rural areas.”
