Kincaid says decision to prosecute raises question for former president's supporters
CBS Philadelphia included Prof. John Kincaid in its 11 p.m. newscast on April 4 about former President Trump’s arraignment in a Manhattan courtroom on charges related to hush money payments during the 2016 presidential election.
In the segment, Kincaid, Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service and director of the Meyner Center for the Study of State and Local Government, noted that the decision to prosecute Trump after the case had been turned down by previous federal and local prosecutors raises the question of a political prosecution for his supporters and that Trump’s lawyers will try to convince the judge to throw out the charges.
